Top 10 Latest Cars That You Wish You Owned

Most people can appreciate a finely-tuned car zipping down the street. There is nothing more American than a car with 500 horses under the hood combined with a slick design. Even though many people are opting for smaller cars with better gas mileage, there are still cars that you yearn to own. Here are 10 that you secretly want the most.

1. Chevrolet Camaro

Chevrolet-Camaro

Chevy has been a classic brand for a long time. The Camaro has been one of its signature models. The newest Camaro, the Camaro ZL1, is being projected to be a collectable American car within a few years. While it has a sticker price of over $50,000, it also sports a V8 engine that carries 580 horses under its hood. That’s cool no matter what anybody says.

2. Ford Mustang

Ford-Mustang

The Ford Mustang is another classic car that Americans have driven for decades. In fact, it may be the most universally revered car model in America. There are very few people who wouldn’t want to drive the Mustang if they had the chance. Ford is introducing the Mustang Boss 302 Leguna Seca as the latest incarnation of the Mustang. Any car that has boss in the name has to be cool.

3. Porsche 911

When you think expensive cars, you think Porsche. It is the one model that you can mention and everyone knows what you are talking about. The Porsche 911 is a car that will turn heads. Unlike a lot of these other cars, it will also hold its value. Not a bad deal.

4. Dodge Charger SRT

Dodge-Charger-SRT

While you might wonder why the grille looks like a large-mouth bass, the rest of the car is a sight to behold. It has a touch screen dashboard as well as 470 horses. You can ignore the looks when it has an engine like that with cool new features to boot.

5. Bugatti Veyron

7. Jaguar E Type Jaguar-E-Type

Classic car lovers are probably wishing that they could own this vehicle. While it hasn’t been made since 1974, it is still one of the more popular high-end cars on the market. What makes it unique is that 70,000 units were produced.

8. Pagani Huayra

Pagani-Huayra

This is closer to a jet than a car. While it boasts the same 700 horses that the Aventdor does, it places the air intakes valves are right by the driver. This is how old jet planes were designed. Made from carbon-fiber, it is also quite light and has great performance.

9. Hyundai Genesis Hyundai-Genesis

Purchase the quality of Lexus for the price of a Hyundai. You get all the features that you want from a luxury car while getting the safety and reliability of a Hyundai. When you are going for your Maryland state inspection, you will be happy that you chose a Hyundai.

10. Honda Civic

Honda-Civic

It isn’t a flashy car by any means. However, it is a reliable car that will last for a long time. Combined with its resale value, you will be happy with your selection. Considering it is one of the best selling cars in America, you will have a lot of company. If something brakes, you know it won’t cost you several thousand dollars for even a simple repair. Those who are driving a luxury car will wish that they had your car when they get the repair bill.

The key to driving is to be happy with what you have. There is no need to spend over $20,000 for a car. Increased performance or a stylish look can be achieved for far less than what many auto makers are charging you.

It can go to 248mph with a Twin Turbo V8 and can even go from zero to 60 at 2.8 seconds

5. Koenigsegg CCX

Despite the company Koenigsegg has been creating fast cars with the looks that can kill, the CCX has been created in order for the car maker to penetrate the US market, which can be quite challenging. Just like the Ascari A10, the CCX is has been the maker’s 10th anniversary unit. The Competition Coupe Xtreme, can zoom at 245 mph with a 32-valve DOHC V8, and can make entry at 60mph in 3.2 seconds due to a quick shift at 6-speed manual transmission.

Fastest Cars In The World: Top 10 List 2011-2012

Fastest Cars In The World: Top 10 List 2011-2012

While most of us can only dream of owning the fastest car in the world, some will do whatever it takes to possess the most powerful speed. So, how fast are the fastest cars in the world?

Here are the 10 fastest cars available on the market (production models, as opposed to concept cars) measured by tested top speed (theoretical speeds do not count).

1. Bugatti Veyron Super Sport: 267 mph, 0-60 in 2.4 secs. Aluminum, Narrow Angle 8 Liter W16 Engine with 1200 hp, base price is $2,400,000. Although the Bugatti Veyron lost the title to SSC Ultimate Aero on March 2007, Bugatti challenge the record in Germany on July 10, 2010 with the new 2010 Super Sport Version and the Veyron once again claims the title of the fastest car in the world at 267 mph. The original Bugatti Veyron has a top speed of 253 mph, priced at $1,700,000 and equipped with 1001 hp.

1

2. Hennessey Venom GT: 260 mph, 0-60 in 2.5 seconds, has a 6.2-liter LS9 Turbocharged V8 Twin Turbo V8 Engine producing 1200 hp, has a price tag of $950,000. The Venom GT has yet to be tested and proven, but could possibly hit a top speed of 275 mph. This might just be the Veyron Super Sport's closest competitor!

2

2. Koenigsegg Agera R: 260 mph, 0-60 in 2.9 secs. 5.0-liter V8 Engine with twin turbo’s, housing 1099 hp. Base price is $1,600,000. If you're into snow sports, the Agera R can be fitted with a Ski Box as well as winter tires, not that I would take one on a ski trip or anything like that. While the Agera R has a massive theoretical top speed, the current tested top speed is 260 mph. Expect this snow car to be the Bugatti's arch enemy for the next 5 years.

3

3. SSC Ultimate Aero 257 mph, 0-60 in 2.7 secs. Twin-Turbo V8 Engine with 1183 hp, base price is $654,400. Tested in March 2007 by Guinness World Records, The SSC Ultimate Aero was the fastest car in the world from March 2007 to July 2010. On March 2011, the Koenigsegg Agera R also surpassed it, forcing this American made car to the #3 spot. Shelby SuperCars will continue their quest to reclaim the fastest car title, and their new SSC Tuatura might do the job (we'll just have to wait).

4

4. Saleen S7 Twin-Turbo: 248 mph, 0-60 in 2.8 secs. Twin Turbo All Aluminum V8 Engine with 750 hp, base price is $555,000. Smooth and bad-ass. It will make you want to show it off non-stop.

5. Koenigsegg CCX: 245 mph, 0-60 in 3.2 secs. 90 Degree V8 Engine 806 hp, base price is $545,568. Made in Sweden, it is the older brother of the Agera R, only losing to 4 other supercars in the world.

6

6. McLaren F1 240 mph, 0-60 in 3.2 secs. BMW S70/2 60 Degree V12 Engine with 627 hp, base price is $970,000. The fastest car in the 20th century with doors that looks like bat wings. Maybe Batman needs to order one and paint it black

7

7. Gumpert Apollo: 224 mph, 0-60 in 3.0 secs, 4.2 liter V8 Engine that houses 650 hp. Base price: $450,000. Gumpert claims that the Apollo was designed such that it could drive upside-down in a tunnel with speeds at 190 mph or above. Of course, no one has tested this yet.

8

8. Noble M600 223 mph, 0-60 in 3.7 secs. Twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 Engine with 650 hp. Base price is $330,000. The Noble M600 also happens to be a very cool car. Its inconspicuous design sports a slender and contoured body which does not scream out for attention at every second of the day.

9. Lamborghini Aventador 217 mph, 0-60 in 2.9 secs. V12 Engine with 700 hp, base price is $379,700. According to Lamborghini, Aventador is the name of a Bull that entered into battle at the Saragossa Arena on October 1993. This is the fastest bull in the world!

11

9. Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster: 217 mph, 0-60 in 3.4 secs. Twin turbocharged AMG V12 engine that produces 678 hp. Base price is $1,850,000. The Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster is a limited-edition, with five ever produced. It is the quintessential exotic and exclusive supercar.

9. Ferrari Enzo 217 mph, 0-60 in 3.4 secs. F140 Aluminum V12 Engine with 660 hp, base price is $670,000. Only 399 were ever produced; the price goes up every time someone crashes.

12

9. Jaguar XJ220: 217 mph, 0-60 in 3.8 secs. Twin Turbo V6 Engine with 542 hp, base price was $650,000. Made in 1992, this car still has what it takes to make the list.

13

10. Ascari A10 215 mph, 0-60 in 2.8 secs. 5.0 litre BMW V8 S62 Engine with 625 hp. Base price: $650,000. The company planned to produce 50 of these supercars at its factory in Banbury, England.

14

10. Pagani Zonda F: 215 mph, 0-60 in 3.5 secs. Mercedes Benz M180 V12 Engine with 650 hp, base price is $667,321. With a V12 motor, this baby can do much better.

Top 10 new production cars at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2011

Top 10 new production cars at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2011

1

For all the mad concept cars at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, this is also the place to see real new cars - the ones that'll be appearing in car showrooms over the next few months.

And this year saw a particularly strong crop too, across all sectors. Yes, there were supercars. But there were also city cars, MPVs and regular hatchbacks all worthy of merit. Here are our 10 favourites.

Porsche 911

2

Even more powerful, even more efficient, the brand new Porsche 911 even has even more gears, as it debuts the world's first seven-speed manual gearbox. Worth it for the new interior alone, the 911's position as the complete sports car is simply reinforced.

Volkswagen Up!

3

After a mildly ludicrous number of concepts, VW has finally unveiled the production version of the Up!, a fun yet practical, tiddly city car powered by efficient three-cylinder engines, the best of which achieves just 79g/km.

BMW M5

4

The latest iteration of the world's most famous super saloon takes its public bow - now complete with 4.4-litre twin turbo V8 power delivering 560hp. Performance is truly in the supercar league, with 0-62mph in 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 190mph with the optional Driver's Package.

Hyundai i30

5

Set to squeeze rivals on style and performance as well as warranty and price, this striking new family hatchback is certain to become Hyundai's most successful model yet. Launching a true Golf rival at Germany's premiere show demonstrates Hyundai's confidence

Aston Martin V12 Zagato

6

Italian style meets British muscle in this £330,000 automotive sculpture. Often controversial, in this Aston Martin Zagato's always eye catching design is beautifully resolved. Aggressive, exclusive and uncompromising it's also a proven racer.

Vauxhall Zafira Tourer

7

The new Zafira gets bigger to take on the Ford Galaxy, but retains the clever interior touches that have made previous versions so popular with on the go families everywhere.

Fiat Panda

8

The cheerfully practical Panda is reborn with increased interior quality and some high tech gadgets - not to mention the introduction of ecocentric two-cylinder TwinAir engines.

Mazda CX-5

9

The standard bearer for Mazda's clever new SkyActiv tech, what the CX-5 lacks in outright style it makes up with environmental efficiency and a sharp driving experience.

Honda Civic

10

The new Civic has an impressively powerful 150hp diesel engine that emits just 110g/km CO2. It's facing some fierce competition though, not least in the shape of the Hyundai i30 also unveiled here at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Ferrari 458 Spider

11

Ferrari has built the world's first mid-engined supercar with a folding hard top. It still looks great, it still goes great and - by all accounts - it sounds even better.

10 most 'liked' car brands on Facebook

10 most 'liked' car brands on Facebook

We've found the 10 most 'liked' car brands on Facebook, see if you're a fan too.

0

Whether you agree with it or not, social media is now part of most people's everyday life. Whether it's keeping up with friends on Facebook or chatting idly on Twitter, many people use social media to interact with all manner of people. Including car companies.

You see, they've figured out that if you interact with current and potential customers they're more likely to think of the brand in a positive light and go on to buy one. There are a few methods of interacting with 'your' brand - the most easy to measure is Facebook. You can see how many 'fans' a brand has and join in and ignore as you like

1. BMW - 6,437,807

10

The blue and white propeller is very well known indeed, and BMW's huge quantity of fans is proof of that. BMW is currently running a campaign called 2Originals, about character and how we're all different in our own way. There's also an active discussions board, video content and a link to their website. If you own or fancy a Beemer one day, this is the page for you...

2. Ferrari - 5,031,256

9

Considering it's one of the best known brands in the world are you really surprised Ferrari is at number 2? The Ferrari page is a fairly simple affair. There are a few links to other Ferrari based pages (they'd never 'like' something that isn't Ferrari now, would they?) and there's plenty of video and written content to get your head around. If you like Ferraris, you could do worse than to 'like' the Ferrari page.

3. Mercedes-Benz - 3,909,610

8

With nearly 3 million fans, Mercedes-Benz is doing something right... Their page has the usual mix of video and visual content, as well as links to Mercedes pages in your country. What caught our eye though, was the use of a bespoke reporter who goes to Mercedes events and answers questions from users directly. Very smart indeed.

4. Audi - 3,795,332

7

There's plenty of glitz on Audi's page - product promotions, in depth pages on the latest models (the A7 at the moment), Flickr feeds for video and pictures and links to the various Audi regions all over the world. The Audi 'gimmick' (for want of a better, more accurate word) is to ask people for their stories. You can read owners' experiences with their cars and submit your own.

5. MINI - 2,331,868

6

It's a brand that few seem to dislike, so having over 2 million fans is to be expected from Oxford's finest. In typical MINI fashion its Facebook page is bright, bold and rather exciting. There's the standard mix of pictures and comments (which anyone can add to), but their subpages are quite something. The stand out feature, however, is the MINI Photo Box. Get your picture taken on it and your face will be beamed to an interactive billboard in Berlin. Now that's user interaction!

6. Porsche - 1,996,995

5

Most people, at some point, have toyed with the idea of owning a Porsche. Maybe not today, but at some point in the future. Well, if that thought's every crossed your mind the Porsche Facebook page is the one for you. There's info on the latest models, interactive apps and links to car building pages and the Porsche shop. When Porsche breached a million fans they created a one-off 911 with all its fans' names on it. That's a cool way to say thank you - how many people do you know have their name on the side of a 911?

7. Jeep - 1,501,911

4

It's no surprise the all-American Jeep has well over a million fans. Especially because in some parts of the US only a Jeep will do... The Jeep page contains a myriad of interesting content, from music to video and pictures, it's all there. You can even find a dealer and book a test drive in a shiny new one...

8. Honda - 1,258,880

3

Honda comes in 8th place with their page. Its approach is a mix of Aston's and VW's, so users can interact on the wall, while bespoke pages direct fans to various content. There's exclusive video, links to fan pages for individual models and even a page to help confused owners adjust settings, etc on their own cars. They also post related content on their wall, so fans can keep up to date with the latest Honda goings on.

9. Aston Martin - 939,080

2

. Aston Martin's approach to Facebook is pretty simple. They don't 'do' special pages or tabs and lay out their content on the page's wall. This could be pictures of the new Zagato or videos of events. The cool thing is - because they publish on their wall anyone else can too. This means fans can post their own images or links alongside Aston Martin's own, making for a truly two-way experience.

10. VW - 839,695

1

At number ten on our list is VW USA. Creating a car for the people means that pretty much everyone has had some interaction with the brand and over 800,000 like their page. Their approach is to give an overview of the company, its history and new models on the way. They've got extensive galleries and information on their cars, as well as deals and competitions. Want to know about VW? It's a great place to start...
