Tentative cost of courses

Fees are composed of tuition (academic) fees and compulsory incidental (non-academic) fees. Basic student tuition fees vary by program and faculty (see the Tuition Fees webpage for detailed information) but it is helpful to have a general idea of the educational costs you can expect in your first year:

- $4,991 and up for tuition fees, depending on your program and campus
- $956 and up for incidental and ancillary fees
- $1,000 and up for books and supplies
- $4,596 to $14,148 or more for residence, depending on where you choose to live, whether you purchase a meal plan, or buy and prepare your own food.

The tuition fee for graduate programs varies according to the program. The total fee is normally an annual fee covering a full academic year and includes both the academic fees plus incidental/ ancillary fees. For more information on fees for graduate programs, please visit the Fees for Graduate Programs page of the university's website.

Scholarships offered

The University of Toronto is unique among Canadian universities in providing assurance of financial support, and in promising that undergraduate students will have access to financial counselling. For more information, especially about Canadian and U.S. government student financial assistance programs refer to the official website.

U of T takes the matter of graduate financial support very seriously. For many students in doctoral-stream programs (MA, MSc, MASc and PhD), the program commits to a minimum level of funding at the beginning of each year, for up to five years of study. For further information about the funding available from specific programs, see the Graduate Funding Structures document at the university's website.

Presence in India

This is the first year that the University of Toronto has offered a summer course in Mumbai. The program will be hosted and co-taught by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, one of the top technical universities in the world.
