First of all we should know something about the X games, as in its history and other facts. It is a commercial annual sports event which is managed and orchestrated by US sports broadcaster ESPN. In 1995, the first inaugural X games was held in Rhode Island. Rhode Island is the smallest US state by area and shares its border with Connecticut to the west and Massachusetts to the north and east. There are winter and summer X games but here I would be talking about summer x games in particular. Before telling you about some of the interesting facts about the summer X games, I will feel it pertinent to give you a short run down of the history of the summer X games, which comprises different events which took place over the period and some hottest and amazing tricks of the participants. Let us start with the year 1999: 1999: X Games Five – Pier 30 & 32, San Francisco, California (June 25 – July 3, 1999) — it was the first professional sporting event which was broadcasted live on internet. The attendance was recorded to be 275,000. The interesting event of this year was that the skateboarder Tony Hawk finally landed a 900-degree spin after failing for eleven times. 2004: X Games 10 – Staples Center, Home Depot Center, Long Beach Marine Stadium, Los Angeles, California (August 5–8, 2004) — two main icons of this year were Nate Adams and Danny Way. Former was the first person to defeat Travis Pastrana in the Freestyle Moto-X event at the X Games and the latter won the first ever Skateboard Big Air event. 2010: X Games 16 – Staples Center, Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum & L.A. Live, Los Angeles, California (July 29 – August 1, 2010) — in the X-games 16, Ashley Fiolek became the only rider to win the women’s Moto X Super X for the second time in a row.

After a brief introduction of the X games, let us know about some of the interesting facts about the X games. As some of the facts are just too small to constitute one point, so in order to provide my readers with reasonable information on X games, I have decided to jumble up one to two facts in a single point, where I deem fit

1. In the year 2002, Pierre-Luc Gagnon won a gold medal for the best trick in skateboarding vert. He performed heelflip 540 Mc Twist.


2. If there is a will, there is a way. Ashley Fiolek is the first and only X games competitor to win gold for Woman’s motocross. But the story of the great achievement does not end here guys as you might be surprised to know that she was deaf.


3. In 2002, the only rider to attempt a double backflip in BMX dirt jumping was T.J Lavin. Although, he crashed hard and hit his head.


4. In X games 15, the age of the oldest woman to compete Skateboard Vert was 41 years and her name was Cara-Berth Burnside.


5. BMX and Skateboard are the only two sports which are in the X games since 1995. Dave Mirra is the person to win the most medals in the X games history. He won total of 23 medals in the X games.


6. Taco Bell remained the sponsor of the X games for 15 years. Now what actually Taco Bell is? Well, it is a American chain of fast-food restaurants which serves 2 billion consumers every year in more than 5800 restaurants in the U.S. Glen Bell was the founder of the Taco Bell.


7. Skateboarding is loved by a large section but is, at the same time, dangerous when it comes to the Mega Ramp. Yes, the Mega Ramp was introduced for the first time in the year 2004 and it is considered the most risky ramp for skateboarding.


8. Not all the games in the X games are equally enjoyable or viewed across the globe. In the year 2007, inline skating was removed from the X games due to its low viewership. Who was the first person to land a successful back flip in motocross? It was no other than Matt Matzger. It is always interesting to know about the first person to do anything in the world.


9. Can you imagine someone achieving 99% success in any sporting activity, and that too in a competition like X games.? Travis Pastrana gained 99 score from the judges and became the first to win motocross event.


10. The name X games was decided in the second year, and at the beginning the X games were titled Extreme Games. X games made its debut in Los Angeles in the year 2003.
