The granny suite
Feisty, fearless, flawless, are just some of the qualities that contour the memory of legendary Hollywood actress and glamazon Elizabeth Taylor. If her multiple marriages and controversial dalliances with conservative cults stoked curiosity and public murmur, her breathtaking collection of clothes, jewellery and accessories raised even more brows.
At a landmark auction starting December 14, Christie’s will showcase the Icon and her Haute couture: clothes and accessories in a fourday series of sales.
Nearly 400 items comprise this collection, which includes haute couture gowns, pret-a-porter fashions, coats, and capes, as well as scores of handbags, jewellery and shoes. Here’s a moment to mop up a few stardust memories.
