For undergraduate admissions, Carnegie Mellon uses the Common Application exclusively. Along with the Common Application, the Carnegie Mellon Common Application Supplement is also required. There is no single office that handles all graduate admissions at Carnegie Mellon. Requirements, application processes and deadlines vary from department to department. Scholarships offered
Carnegie Mellon University is happy to make available to its qualifying admitted undergraduate students both institutional grants and scholarship opportunities in order to help lower the cost of a Carnegie Mellon education. The benefit of grants and scholarships to the admitted student is that neither amount has to be paid back -- they are free money. Grant dollars are those institutional resources that the university awards to a student when they demonstrate a financial need via the financial aid process. Scholarships are awards that you do not have to repay. The Carnegie Scholarship is awarded to students when they enter as first-year students and is renewed annually if the student meets the cumulative 2.0 QPA requirement. The Carnegie Scholarships are awarded to artistically and academically talented middle income students who qualify for little to no need-based financial aid. Please be aware that External Transfer applicants are not eligible for scholarship consideration.

Presence in India
Carnegie Mellon's partnership with SSN School of Advanced Software Engineering (SASE) in Chennai includes Carnegie Mellon's MSIT-SE programme taught by SSN faculty in India and Carnegie Mellon faculty via distance learning, plus two semesters of residency at Carnegie Mellon's Pittsburgh campus.
