Nathan Hauritz remains in doubt for the 2011 Cricket World Cup after undergoing scans on a dislocated shoulder.

Hauritz suffered the injury during Australia's 46-run victory over England in the second ODI in Hobart on Friday.

He is expected to miss the remainder of the seven-match ODI series, with Tasmania's Xavier Doherty called up as a replacement

"Nathan had scans this afternoon following his shoulder dislocation yesterday," Cricket Australia physiotherapist Alex Kountouris said Saturday.

"They have demonstrated moderate disruption of the supportive structures at the shoulder."

"The treatment options include both conservative and surgical management."

"It is likely he will be unavailable for the remainder of the Commonwealth Bank Series and his availability for the ICC Cricket World Cup will be determined in the coming weeks."

Prior to undergoing the scans, Hauritz said he remained hopeful of a playing a role in the 50-over World Cup, which begins in February.

"It's disappointing to get injured, but it can't be helped. I've never dislocated my shoulder before, and I don't want another one after that."

"When I landed it popped out, then I thought it had popped back in but it hadn't."

"It could have been worse, it could have been during the World Cup. I've still got three weeks before the team leaves and if it's nothing major I might be back in, so we'll wait and see.''

Fast bowler Shaun Tait has also been ruled out of Australia's next ODI in Sydney on Sunday.

Tait was forced from the field on Friday with a thigh problem, but should be fit to return for the fourth match in Adelaide on January 24.

"Shaun complained of some left upper thigh pain during last night's match ... He had scans this afternoon which have cleared him of any new and significant damage," Kountouris said.

Victorian paceman Peter Siddle has been called into the ODI squad as a cover for Tait as Mitchell Johnson is not expected to be fit to play as he continues to recover from a throat infection.
