New York Film Academy's first workshop in India

The renowned film school will hold its first ever Indian summer workshop in Mumbai from May 2-May 28.

The New York Film Academy (NYFA) is set to enter India with its first ever workshop. The four-week workshop will be held in partnership with Yellow Submarine Film Pvt Ltd (Bangalore) at the Lilavatibai Podar Senior Secondary School in Santacruz, Mumbai from May 2 to May 28, 2011.
Each student will receive a diploma on successful completion of the course.

Top 25 students will receive an internship with established television and film production companies. The top student also gets an internship with Anurag Basu (director of Kites, Life in a Metro, Gangster).

1 Take Media, the Placement Partners for this workshop, will assist students in internship programmes.

The workshop comprises of shoots on a daily basis giving practical insights to every aspect of the theory that is taught. Each student is exposed to the roles and functions of all crew members in a film shoot.

NYFA is considered the best hands-on film school in the world by many of today's top filmmakers who have sent their family members to study there. They include Steven Spielberg, Al Pacino, Robert Downey Jr., Jamie Foxx, Jodie Foster, Kevin Kline, Pierce Brosnan, Susan Sarandon, Bono(U2) among others.

Bollywood's Imran Khan is also an alumnus of NYFA.
