American Idol Season 10 Unveils Finalists, Sportsbooks Introduce Betting Odds

american American Idol has just unveiled the tenth set of finalists to come to this smash hit of a reality TV show, and the program did so in front of 25 million viewers. On March 3rd, the top 10 finalists and the top 3 wildcards were selected out of a field of the top 12 males and top 12 females.

The series has undergone some major changes between season 9 and season 10, but “Idol” fans were still subjected to the same form of competition. Some changes include allowing 15 year olds to audition and airing on Wednesday and Thursday instead of Tuesday and Thursday, but the biggest changes were perhaps in the judges. Simon Cowell joined the show at its launch, but ended up leaving, along with Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres, but the first name in the list of three had really dealt a blow to the show.

In attempt to make up for the lack of Simon, the show had brought in Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler, as well as pop music’s Jennifer Lopez. Some criticism had been launched toward the producers for their selection of judges, but the two musical talents, joining with long time judge Randy Jackson, give a solid background in the industry in passing judgment on the talented hopefuls.

Seven females and six males have made it into the finals, but only a few have the talent to make it through the finals. Some of the key talents that have displayed their vocal ranges include Scotty McCreery, the deep voiced 17 year old who is almost guaranteed a record contract, Lauren Alaina, the young star in the making who has even received some positive attention from Kelly Clarkson, and Pia Toscano – a potential winner who is as pretty as she is talented.

Each competitor will have equal chances of winning due to the impartial judgments, but only the best talent will make it through the finals to be crowned the newest American Idol. Even footing is not available, however, through Bodog sportsbook, as they are offering entertainment betting odds on who they expect to win.

Fans and bettors alike can place wagers on the contestants in the American Idol Season 10 finals competition. Several types of odds are available through Bodog’s book, including who will win straight up, the gender of the winner, and who will advance further in the competition. A few other proposition bets will allow players to wager whether or not Casey Abrams and Randy Jackson will appear on stage together, as well as Paul McDonald and Rod Stewart appearing on stage together. In these cases, the musicians will have to be performing together in order for the bet to qualify.

Players must keep in mind, however, that Bodog’s decision is final.
